I’m proud to announce that one of my articles was published on Vectortuts today ! This Illustrator tutorial teaches you how to use the effects panel to create a repeating geometrical pattern, which is a very popular style of logo these days.
I hope you enjoy it and that you learn something from it ! More tutorials will be coming once I try out the new features in Illustrator CS4, some of which looks very promising.
Hey Sacha!
I just saw your tutorial on Vector Tuts, and let me say this: IT’S FREAKIN’ AMAZING! I’ve been looking forward to learn that effect and now I finally got it.
One little question though, when I’m about to “twist” the image, I can’t make it twist the whole thing from the center, it seems like it’s twisting every single circle on its own. Am I missing something? Your help will be highly appreciated.
Once again, the tut is GREAT! Cheers!
I’m glad you find it useful !
Your problem sounds like you’re applying the twist effect to every part of the object instead of the object as a whole. The solution is to move the “twist” layer down, after the “transform” layer.
To be honest, I found out about this by trial and error, moving layers around to see the result. You might have to do the same until you’re satisfied with what you get.
It’s me again. Just wanted to say thanks for your quick response.
I just moved the twist layer below as you said and voilá!!!
Thanks a bunch, hope to see more cool projects form you soon!
